Longest Run of My Life

The first eight miles were most definitely the hardest part of the run. After mile eight, it was downhill (despite my wish, not literally). Today I realized that one of the best parts of long distance running is enjoying the scenery, exploring new parts of your location, and discovering beautiful places you had no idea existed. During this particular run which happens to be a personal distance record for me, I was surprised at what mile eight had to offer- beautiful stretch of trail between two bodies of ocean water. The smell of fresh, salt water cleansed my nostrils and I couldn't help but feel refreshed, free, and ready to tackle the second half of my run.

Time: 2:26:14
Distance: 16.06 miles
