Bad (A) Mother

Aaden and his dad spaced on soccer practice last Friday night which means he missed it.

And here’s how my monkey mind went—

How much time do I have? Soccer practice starts in 10 minutes. I am 30 minutes from dads house and 30 minutes from the soccer field. This would give Aaden a solid half hour to practice. Doable?!

Yes? No? Probably not

What if he doesn’t go to soccer practice tonight? He will not play. He will have a miserable season and he will hate soccer forever. Soccer is the outlet that will keep him healthy and active and therefore he will become sedentary and not want to do anything FOR EVER. He will probably just fail right out of school because if he doesn’t play soccer and have a team and friends, he will not be able to succeed in his social life and academics. If he fails in school he will never achieve everything I hope for him as adult.  This will be all my fault because I didn’t make sure that he got to soccer practice that ONE Friday night. #badmotheralert

Breathe momma. You are not perfect. Your co-parenting partner is not perfect. Life happens!

Now pull up your big girl pants, silence your monkey mind and be bold enough to rewrite your story to one that is actually useful and serving you. It’s one soccer practice and on the grand scheme of things... not 👏 the 👏end 👏 of 👏 the 👏 world 👏

Do you want to be a “bad” mother or a “BAD” (A) mother? I think it’s about time we all take a deep breath, “forget” practice once in a while, silence the ringer, play hookie,  delete the emails, accidentally throw the “task” list in the trash, eat cake for breakfast(in moderation) and start LIVING the badass, empowered life we were meant to. Guilt free, shamelessly.

How can you be a little BAD (A) this week?  I challenge you to give it a try!
